Healthy Lunches

Our school has a healthy eating policy and participates in the Food Dudes Programme every year which encourages children to incorporate fruit and vegetables into their diet and to drink water. Crisps, nuts, fizzy drinks, junk food and chewing gum are not allowed.

Because of the prevalence of nut allergies in our school, any foods containing nuts or traces of nuts are strictly forbidden. This includes chocolate type spreads such as Nutella as they also contain nuts.

St. Joseph’s N.S. has been chosen as one of the schools to benefit from the Hot School Meals Programme.

As part of our Green Schools' Programme, we encourage children to bring a reusable bottle to school.
